How we tackle problems with LCD and DLP® projectors

If you have problems with projectors, the cause can be anything from minor soiling of individual components to more serious defects. Depending on the severity and clarity of the problem, we can carry out the maintenance directly in our workshop in Dortmund. If the problem occurs to be a little larger, we will focus on fixing it as soon as possible. Either way: your device will be up and running again after! There are a couple of questions that reach us on a regular basis. Many of them regarding our work processes. That’s why we have created a small FAQ section for you. You can also find a few tips on repairs on typical problems here.

How long does it take to maintain a projector?

The duration depends on the device and the degree of soiling. As for a standard level of soiling, the regular duration for maintaining your projector ranges from 3 to 8 hours. It may take a bit longer if certain components need to be replaced.

Why is the projected black image no longer black and the white image no longer white?

In that case, certain components are probably dirty. Meaning, they should be cleaned by a specialist or replaced if necessary.

What do you do if a projector no longer starts at all?

We check everything from the power supply unit and plug to the mainboard. By then, one or more faults should be apparent and the faulty components will be replaced.

A light has overheated and subsequently burst. What should be done?

The lamp shaft should be cleaned and the lamp replaced. It is also advisable to check the fans for glass splinters.
